June, month of poppies,
and also month when everything is green, and in this green, rouges poppies.

Last year, I have already said my tendency for poppies, with the page ' Poppies in roadsides '
published in the same series.

And the lyrics of the song written by Raymond Asso for Mouloudji, who trot in the head :

.../...
And I so much leaned
My lips on his heart
That on the place of the kiss
Had for a flower there
As a small poppy my soul
As a small poppy
.../... Short quotation, this poem-song not having fallen in the public domain.

Scientific name : Papaver rhoeas L.
Common name
In German : Mohn, Klatschoren
in French : coquelicot
in Italian : papavero rosso
in Spanish : amapola, ababol

The petals of poppy enter the composition of the herb tea of four flowers,
for its light sedative properties.

And because the poppy expresses himself at first by its color, the RED article of the dictionary Furetiere of 1690

RED, Sensational color which is appropriate to represent the fire. This word comes from rubius, rubeus, ruber.
The dry cleaners recognize seven sorts of red voucher. The first one is called scarlet of France or Tapestries, which is made with the agaric, the pastel, and seed of scarlet, vermilion or alkermes. Some people add it the cochineal and the fenugreek. The second is the carmine red, which is made with tartar, cochineal, metic or tescalle, which comes from India, and which is the most expensive drug of the dye. The third is the red of madder, which is made with the root of madder, the reagal and some arsenic in the broth. The fourth red is called half-seed, which is made with half seed of scarlet, and madder-coloured half. Fifth, half-carmine.
Sixth, red or nacarat of filling. The seventh, the scarlet of cochineal, or way of Holland. The red of Brazil is forbidden in the dyes, because it is a false color.
The nuance of the red of madder is the color of flesh, skin or onion skin, siamete, isabelle, color of tile, rosiness and ginjolin.
That some carmine red or some filling, which is the same thing, is the blossom of apple tree, of peach tree, color of pink, incarnadin, pink rosiness..
That some red or scarlet of Holland also makes the color of flesh, flower of peach tree and pink, of incarnadin, and still the color of cherry, nacarat, poppy, color of fire, etc.

In Physics we notice three sorts of red generally. The one holds of the blue, as the coil, the purple and the carmine. Other one holds of the yellow, as the color of fire and the orangy color. Between these extremities there is one who does not hold either of the one, or the other one, than we call cleanly the red.
At the Glassworkers the beautiful light red is made with some golden mixture in the dye, with which the glass is filled, which being melted makes a beautiful red of ruby

The acid makes, red, the black become, the blue and the purple; it changes the red in yellow, and the yellow in yellow very pale. The alkali changes the red in purple or in red purple, and the yellow in dead leaf. The ground and sulphurized materials become red by a big heat; and some become finally black, as we see in the brick, in the red bowl, in the blood orange, in the slate, in the pumice, who by means of a big burning mirror glaze in a black enamel. The crawfishes become red on an inferior fire, and in a big they become black. Suffers it and the mercury mixed and pushed to the fire make a very beautiful red which we call artificial cinnabar. If we pour into the blue solution of the sunflower an acid spirit, as lemon juice, her(it) will become of a beautiful red ; and if the acid is very strong, this red will fire at orange-colored, or at the color of fire. The alkali will put back it in its first blue or purple color. While we filter some very red wine, it loses almost all its color. There is small red balls in the blood, that if we remove them by means of the filter, it will not have a color anymore. The celestial bodies which get up in thick clouds seem red, because of the refractions. The color of fire is the darkest red. It is a beauty of the lips to be very red, and a big defect of eyes.

In terms of Blazon, the red is called mouths, cinnabar, belic or belis, and rich color.

.../... The end of the definition, which can be read on the page in French, is very specific in the country.
